As technology changes the landscape and ushers in a new reality, I am drawn to remnants of late 20th century and early 21st century American life. This series looks at cracks in a rapidly changing landscape. It explores common people and common places found in the great divide between the future and those left behind.

Shen Wei, recipient of the 2007 MacArthur Foundation "Genius Award" took his company SWDA to the streets of NYC for 2 days of "guerrilla" public performances in October of 2010....one week before the NYC streets performances the dancers practice Shen Wei's technique.

Shen Wei takes his company, to the streets of NewYork City in a series of unannounced performances from his masterwork "RE-Part (III)". Shen Wei collaborated with the Times Square Alliance for 3 free public performances of his Re-(III) —reconfigured for the street. Staged in Duffy, the dance was projected (in real-time) on a jumbo screen in Times Square. The Company also gave free shows of Re-(III) at 8 public sites in the city including the 42nd Streetsubway station, Grand Central Station, Union Square, Bowling Green Park and Battery Park.
